Changes

Pops has had more bad days as of late. In fact, the "good days" are more like a couple of good hours. It has gotten harder on EE/ Mom and she has looked tired the last times i've seen her. I did have a good visit with them yesterday and spent some time talking and hanging out with them. Pops and I had a "Patch Adams" moment (movie with Robin Williams)when he said to me "you know i'm dying...i'm on my last leg". To which I responded "getting ready for the dirt nap." He replied "the last mile" and I followed with "assuming room temperature." He then laughed because he had not heard that one.

We talked about buying a recliner lift chair because of his declining mobility. He was against it and does not want to spend the money. Yet it is getting to that time because of Moms lack of physical skills to help him get around. Also, I talked him into it when I explained that the lift chair costs less than one month at the assisted living. There deal right now is they are living in an apartment that costs a certain amount of money. If he moves into assisted living they still pay the same there, but pay extra for Pops assisted living care. We might end up getting him a lift chair and also have him move next door to the assisted living- unless he rebounds quickly. I'm going to go by and talk to him again today. He always seems to perk up when visitors are around.
