New Post

Have had a lotta stuff happen in the past week. Sorry I did not not blog sooner but have been busy with life.

Regarding our house: The folks we are trying to get it from backtracked on our offer because it will hurt their credit- with this we are now looking at other houses, and hoping they will agree as our economical situations continue to go in the crapper nationally. We like that house, but are mainly just looking for a good deal overall. Biggest problem is that we were hoping to be in to accommodate family comfortably at holiday time.

Mom and Pops have both had a 24 hour bug in the past week. Lots of Clorox and help because they need assistance any time they fall below the threshold of function. They have been extra grateful- especially since the MD appointment with Dr Jones. Pops got sick on Thursday and it wiped EE out. Next day EE had the crud and Pops was still not recovered, and also is not equipped at a caregiver role. Never has been and will not start now. Kudos to the guys at BeeHive because they went overboard to accommodate Pops when he was at his worst- and at no extra charge....

Dr Jones visit went as a medical visit as well as a counseling intervention. Pops talked about how he hates the fact that "4 other people" (myself, KA, Dr Jones, EE) dictate what he takes internally and what he does. Long story short, it was emphasized that he controls his own destiny if he wants it. He just gets limited and cannot make decisions when he is in pain. We need to continue to teach what med is for what. For instance, he was tired this morning and wanted a pain pill to "give him energy". Wrong pill boss. The whole visit with Dr Jones involved yelling and tears about a plan. MD visit emphasis is that the plan is in Lone Stars hands overall- but with the value he has at this time we will look at hospice at New Years time if that is what he wants at that time. He fluctuates with keeping a positive mentality- but with family encouragement can be led to appreciate his positive aspects that to him demonstrate life worth living.

After the UEA week:

7th Grade football:
Lost a hard fought game to Desert Hills 20-14. They should have won, but turnovers and an interception on the 9 yard line with one minute to go sealed the deal. Zane played great. He had a solo tackle on punt coverage and played a mean left guard. He gets better every week and wants to play next year. I told him 7th grade was when I started to blossom and am looking forward to growth from him.

Record: 1-6

4th Grade Football
We played the worst team in the league this week. It was nice because we played kids at all sorts of positions that they would normally not play. We won 43-0, and it could have been worse. Noah had 3 carries in the first half for 50 yards and then had a groin pull. He busted one for 37 and they caught him on the 3. He only played three plays in the second half with pain. It was a good game as a head coach. Kids got to play a ton that normally don't play that much.

Record:7-0

Peace
