By Beef Stew I mean just a hodge podge of info. Changed the pics and now you do not get the front entrance. It's not palacial, but it was nice to see the "Humphrey House" sign.
Mom and Pops have been doing better the last few days. We went from all the medications aren't working to cover the pain to I feel o.k. in a 4 day period. Pops pain does fluctuate but I think it both physical and a bit psychological. If there are no visitors for a couple of days his pain seems worse. Lots of activity- pain is lessened. I think when he is alone or just the 2 of them he dwells on it. I say this with saying that KA goes by everyday during the week in the AM. I encourage them to come to my work- but even then I don't have a lot of time sometimes to do one on one with them. EE is pretty self sufficient at Coral Desert- Pops needs help. I encourage them to get out everday... there is a whole world still revolving out there. As Joe Dirt says...."Life's a garden....dig it."
They went to Chuck A Rama on their own on Friday after coming and utilizing the pool at Coral Desert and facilities. I wanted to go with them but had obligations with patients and land lease agreements. They did it and it wore them out--- but they did it. Congrats to a small step for independence.
Thank you to Chuck, Jeff, Bill, Bodie and Zane for helping move into a storage shed. We spent an evening transporting the rest of the townhome stuff to storage last week. These guys were all awesome in this endeavor. I won't say who was blowing the cheese during this...
Hope all is improving in the Gulf Coast region. time to time when things are going well I ponder how friends and loved ones are coping with the continued adjustments that are a part of life in a hurricane ravaged region. I still call people weeks later and their phones are disconnected. Makes you appreciate what ya got.
We see Dr Jones on Monday with some concerning issues. Pops has pain management issues that kill me. He'll complain and complain where it wears my mom out, and then go see the doctor and say "it's mainly fatigue, I don't really have any pain."
Were not doing this again. It's time to pay the piper and be straight with the doctor. Let's face it, Pops takes enough pain pills to drop a horse and we need to acknowledge the fact. If it is that bad.... What are the options?
Important stuff to me- not to all:
Hurricane Tiger Football 7th Grade:
Zane played pretty well- but his team got rolled 33-0 in a home game today. The other team had a one man show and I must admit he impressed me.
Record: 1-4
Hurricane Tiger Football 4th Grade:
We palyed the championship team from last year that went undefeated. We broke their 14 game winning streak and beat them 13-6 in overtime. Great game- we have way better skill players but our line still needs to improve on holding blocks. It was a great game and I am so proud of our guys for coming out on top. Noah had 1 carry for 2 yards on a sweep. I asked him after the game if he wanted more carries and he said "I don't care- as long as we win.." He's awesome to coach and an awesome little guy- as all 3 kids are.
Record 5-0
KA ran the St George Marathon today. I am beaming with excitement for her and also envious because I could not do it this year. It took her 5:24 but she did it. She says "never again" and we made her her dinner of choice which was steak, mashed potatoes and mustard carrots. She, and the football game, pumped me up to an awesome day today......
