Basic Update

The last few days have been typical for Pops and EE. Pops will have a good day or two, followed with a time of breakthrough pain where he doesn't function well. We are writing down all "breakthroughs" on a sheet so that we can report them to the doctor. The good news is that EE is getting more adept at handling the pain exacerbations and when she has questions, she calls. For instance, Saturday morning was a breakthrough pain day and after taking extra Oxycontin some added Dexamethasone was needed. Pops felt good Sunday/ yesterday and no extra pain meds were needed. They did have a plan on trying to get out to church but after getting ready he was wiped out. That's kinda how it goes- it's day to day. As Dan Patrick used to say: "aren't we all day to day."

Tiger football update:

7th Grade Football:
Zane's team got beat 32-0 on Saturday. He gets discouraged about their talent level as a team but he has really improved. He held his own and I was very proud of him. Their coach is still very upbeat and supportive. I think he sees the talent level and has reasonable expectations. The two 7th grade city leagues teams are doing really well so there is talent at his grade level- just it is limited on his team. They only have 15 players.
Record 1-5

4th Grade Football Update:
We won 12-7 with a fourth quarter comeback. This was the team that beat us both in the regular season last year 24- 20 and also 7-6 in the playoffs. We played the worst half of football in the first half that we have played all year. We were flat and uninspired. I got after them at halftime and we outscored them 12-0 in the second half. Noah played great. He had a ton of tackles and rushed 3 times for 15 yards. He smashed his hand between two helmets on a carry and I could tell it hurt. It was bloody under the nail and skin was torn off. I asked him if he wanted to go out and he said "no". He was a little stud. They all were as it was cold. Game time temp was 44 degrees.
Record 6-0
