Feelin' Good

Pops and Mom came over to Coral Desert yesterday and as he was walking in with his walker, yes walking in, I could tell he felt a bit better today. He was more active in the pool and was more alert overall. As Eileen said: "When he feels better I feel better." We went to Chuck A Rama afterwards and he debated to walk in or use the wheelchair. I encouraged him to walk as much as possible and use the seat on the walker if he needed it. He made it in with a couple of breaks which was good- about 120 feet total. He is trying to decrease his Oxycontin meds and keep his Dexametasone a little higher so that he is not so stoned. It worked today but I know the med juggling can have good days and bad days. We'll just go day to day.

Would of fallen getting out to the car leaving the restaurant. Was getting weak there is a slope to get into the parking lot. I went out and pulled their car up and I went around to open the door for him his left leg gave out. We stabilized and I told him "Your not allowed to fall today, today is a good day."

Parents are planning on coming to Zanes football game today at 11:20. It is a good time for them because Noahs game isn't until 4:20 and the grind of the day will have worn them out by then. They can go home and watch Hurricane Ike coverage.

Hope all friends of mine and my parents, as well as those in general, are safe and doing well with Ike. Prayers and thoughts are with you today as we go through our more trivial events than struggling with basic safety and shelter. Living in that area for over 20 years our whole Humphrey family has many ties- and hope all is well. Enjoy the cool front coming in Sunday night. Go Hurricane Tigers 7th and 4th grade!!!
