Support

Talking about support: I/ we have the best support I could imagine in this situation. Starting with the most important: My wife, KerryAnn. She probably does more for my parents than I do. She cooks meals for them, goes by every morning, helps with appointments, does social things with my Mom, loves them and most of all, supports me when I get down over the whole deal. As I tell her, I couldn't do it without her. She is a rock.
Cathy A is also a great asset for my parents. She treats them like they were her own parents. She also cooks meals, checks on them, keeps my Mom social at Coral Desert with talking with her while she rides the machines and is our liason when we go out of town- which seems to be a lot in the summer especially. We are blessed to have her as a friend.
My whole work at Coral Desert is another blessing. I would have to say at this point that the main benefit of having ownership in this project is having a place where my parents can come 3 days week and utilize the services that we have. At this point, it is my parents main reason to get out of the house and it is therapeutic in both a physical manner as well as socially. We have a Wednesday BBQ which they do not miss and the therapy staff help with their needs- even when i'm there. Everyone is awesome in what they do and in dealing and helping me with situations. Pops has stayed at Coral Desert for 2 different periods of time- free of charge at a place that commands roughly 400 dollars a days just to get in the door- where Tony (the administrator) has flatly said "have him stay as long as he likes." I'm asked me all the time-"How's your Dad?" and then help him with whatever he needs. I have never worked at such a place where not only are the facilities available to help needing individuals but also where the staff is willing to accomodate peoples needs even if there is no profit involved.
